Artwork created using the calotype technique, invented by William Henry Fox Talbot. The image features six drinking glasses arranged in two rows, exposed on a sheet of paper coated with silver chloride. The top row displays the intricate, starburst-like patterns of the glasses' bases, while the bottom row shows the more subdued circular design of the glasses' tops. The areas exposed to light appear darker, yielding a negative image characteristic of the calotype process.
