Primary school groups are invited to explore our current Hayward Gallery exhibition for free.
Groups are able to venture through the exhibition at their own pace, while using our primary schools resource, the Hello Hayward Guide, to help you explore the artwork.
There is also an allocated time for groups to engage in an activity responding to the exhibition. Your allocated time slot is shared with you by the dedicated schools team in advance of the event.
Sketchbooks and pencils are welcome, but no pens or charcoal, please.
Need to know
This event is for primary school groups only. There must be the following ratio of adults to children:
One adult for every five children for under-5s
One adult for every ten children aged 6 – 11
Regardless of the size of the group, there must be at least two adults responsible for the group at all times. Safeguarding information for schools is available.

Our address is Southbank Centre, Belvedere Road, London, SE1 8XX.

Cloakroom
We have a cloakroom for coats, umbrellas and small bags; it costs £2 per item.

Please note that we’re unable to accept cash payments across our venues.
Access
We’re working hard to remove barriers, so that our facilities and events can be accessible to as many people as possible.
All help points, toilets, performance and exhibition spaces at the Southbank Centre are accessible to all, as are the cafes, bars and restaurants. We also have excellent public transport links with step-free access.

Exhibition tours
Guided tours of our Hayward Gallery exhibitions are available to ticket holders; the dates and times of these can be found when you click through to book your exhibition tickets.
If you’d like to arrange a private/group tour of an exhibition, please contact us. The Hayward Gallery does not accept external tour guides or tour groups – all exhibition tours must be arranged through the Southbank Centre.
