New Year's Eve at the Southbank Centre

Celebrating New Year’s Eve in London? From 5pm on Wednesday 31 December 2025, the Southbank Centre site is only open to visitors with a booking at one of our restaurants.

If you don’t have a confirmed reservation at one of our on-site restaurants, you won’t be able to access our site – including the riverside Queen’s Walk – from the afternoon onwards.

Our opening hours on Wednesday 31 December are as follows:

Royal Festival Hall: 9.30am – 3.30pm
Queen Elizabeth Hall: 12.30pm – 5pm (for ticket holders only)
Hayward Gallery: 10am – 4pm

From 2pm our site will begin to close to public access, and will be fully closed at 5pm.

If you are coming into central London, remember that transport will be busy, so leave plenty of time for travel – and have a happy New Year!
