Worlds of Words: Translation and Drawing Workshop

How do books get from one language into another? Come along to find out and try your hand at bringing poems into English, and translating words into images!

On World Mother Language Day, join illustrator and translator Elīna Brasliņa to explore poems and stories from around the world with drawing activities and fun, easy-to follow-translation exercises.

All attendees receive a translated book to take home and no knowledge of other languages is necessary.

Elīna Brasliņa is an illustrator and artist from Latvia. She works with both Latvian and international publishers, and books with her illustrations have been published in 60 countries, and translated into 40 languages.
