Tiwa Savage

+ Tay Iwar

The ‘Queen of Afrobeats’ puts her stamp on Meltdown with her signature blend of soul, R&B and hip-hop.

Savage is a huge force in Africa’s music and entertainment industry, conquering the charts in her home country of Nigeria and becoming one of the most recognisable faces in the Afrobeats scene.

Starting off her singing career at the age of 16 with the Tuff Session singers, Savage’s first professional gigs included singing backing vocals for George Michael and Mary J. Blige.

After winning a scholarship to study Professional Music at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, Savage moved to Los Angeles, racking up studio sessions with the likes of The Underdogs and Frank Ocean, writing songs for many artists, and providing backing vocals for Whitney Houston’s final studio album, I Look To You.

Since moving back to Nigeria, she’s earned an abundance of award nominations, including for the World Music Award and MOBO Awards, and released several albums to critical acclaim.

Tay Iwar is a Grammy-nominated Nigerian artist whose genre-blending sound fuses R&B, Afro-fusion, and soul with unmistakable emotional depth. Known for his smooth falsetto and atmospheric production, Iwar first broke through as a leading voice in Nigeria’s alté movement.
