The Orange Room

Join The Orange Room Collective for an open-mic event that spotlights and celebrates Black creatives from London, with live music, performances and games.

The Orange Room Collective, founded by sisters Rasheeda and Shani Akilah, is a dynamic Black British collective developing experiences and events using poetry, literature, music and culture.

Inspired by the sisters’ childhood home, the collective aims to spread joy, creativity and community through family-style events and workshops.

Artists performing at the open mic are C7RDO, Toyah Demi, Dremar, Ehireme, Erica James, Golden Child, Mia Means, Niemba, OURAA, Prple, Reya-Nyomi and Tadiwanashe.

Applications for the open mic section have now closed. Only pre-selected performers are able to perform at the event.

Access

This event is a Relaxed Performance.

Relaxed Performances have a relaxed approach to noise and movement in the space, and you are free to exit and re-enter during the performances. A chill-out space and noise-cancelling headphones is available. There are no adjustments to sound and lighting for these events and this event will feature amplified sound and potential flashing lighting (not strobe).

This event is held at the The Clore Ballroom Southbank Centre

The Clore Ballroom is open six days a week.

Tuesday, 10am – 6pm*
Wednesday – Sunday, 10am – 11pm
Monday, closed.

*If we’re hosting a performance, the building will stay open until the event ends.
