Author Katherine Rundell smiles while holding her book

The Children's Bookshow with Katherine Rundell

Wed 21 Oct 2026, 11am

Be swept away to a land beyond your wildest imagination as Katherine Rundell discusses her epic fantasy series and answers audience questions.

Run time 1 hour (approx)
This is a schools event

Bestselling author Rundell introduces characters Christopher, Mal and a baby griffin on their urgent quest across the Archipelago, a secret place in our world where mythical creatures still live and thrive: dragons small enough to perch on your thumb, winged horses, gold-horned hares that salute the brave and chaotic talking green squirrels.

Rundell shares the story of her life as a writer and what inspires her, discussing the importance of stories and reading for pleasure.

We also hear about the more recent titles in the series, The Poisoned King, The Neverfear and more gripping adventures, followed by plenty of time for the audience to ask questions.
