Shradhanjali: A Homage to Zakir Hussain

Sat 4 Jul 2026, 7.30pm

An extraordinary evening of rhythm, improvisation and global musical dialogue arrives in London, honouring tabla maestro Zakir Hussain and led by Talvin Singh.

Hussain was a pioneering force whose productions and arrangements brought together the world’s finest percussionists in a spirit of collaboration, virtuosity and innovation.

This concert continues that tradition with a stellar line-up: Marcus Gilmore (drums), Anantha R Krishnan (mridangam), Satin Singh (multi-percussion) and Tom Rogerson (piano).

The evening opens with a hypnotic duet between Tom Rogerson and Talvin Singh, blending tabla, piano and subtle electronic textures into a deeply immersive soundscape.

The second half brings together a powerful percussion ensemble, where traditions meet innovation. Expect intricate rhythmic interplay, improvisation of the highest order and a celebration of shared musical language that unites jazz, Indian classical and global percussion forms.

A rare opportunity to witness master musicians in conversation, this is both a tribute and a living continuation of a revolutionary musical vision.
