Suede
The iconic band take to the stage over two nights to launch their brand new album, more than three decades after the release of their era-defining debut.
Credited with paving the way for the Britpop movement of the mid-90s, Suede’s unique blend of glam and alternative rock has had an enduring influence on the UK’s music scene.
The band’s hugely successful back catalogue includes its 1993 debut, Suede, which won the Mercury Prize; and its paradigm-shifting follow-up, Dog Man Star.
Following a hiatus, they returned to build on their legacy with albums including 2022’s widely acclaimed Autofiction.
The band is formed of singer Brett Anderson, bassist Mat Osman, drummer Simon Gilbert, guitarist Richard Oakes and keyboard player Neil Codling.
Support for Saturday 13 September: Bloodworm
Bloodworm captures the dark, atmospheric energy of gothic rock while channeling the melodic sensibilities of post-punk legends. With haunting vocals from singer George Curtis (reminiscent of The Cure), brooding basslines that echo Joy Division’s raw intensity, and swirling guitars that nod to the shoegaze textures of Ride, they take you on a sonic journey through the melancholic and the ethereal.
Support for Sunday 14 September: Gazelle Twin
British composer, producer and performer Elizabeth Bernholz developed Gazelle Twin in 2009, as the moniker under which she has since released six albums. Her experimental electronic music is influenced by diverse genres, from classical, choral and sacred music, to pop, industrial and EDM. Her compositions encompass euphoric and haunting choral landscapes, matched with intensely minimal, beat-driven pop songs.
