Saturday Sessions: Breakin' with Rain Crew
Break, spin and freeze into the weekend as we learn, create and experiment with the art of breakin’.
Saturday Sessions are the perfect place to start the weekend. On a monthly basis you can enjoy a piece of art, make something new along with the artists and create with other children and their families – all for free!
In this session, Rain Crew introduces us to the art of breaking, with moments of workshop, moments of showcase and moments to share and move together, with DJ Kofi Mingo, Bboy Chilly and Mitchell Taunton.
Mitchel Taunton is renowned for pushing boundaries through movement. Blending breaking foundations with popping and contemporary influences, he creates a style that is both raw and poetic.
Kofi Mingo seamlessly blends hip-hop dance with breaking, crafting a style that’s both expressive and original. A DJ, B-Boy, and stick artist, he embodies the essence of creativity and movement within the culture.
Haseeb Chilly Hearn is an expressive contemporary breaker with a deep connection to hip-hop culture and its artistic roots and a strong sense of musicality and storytelling through movement.
Rain Crew’s artists specialise in breaking, hip-hop, house and krump, performing at both a hyperlocal and international level. Rain Crew is deeply connected to the UK dance scene with roots in hip-hop culture as a battle crew, while also operating as producers of creative work, delivering events and theatrical performances, striving for artistic excellence.
Stick around afterwards for a freestyle Ballroom Boogie with Toasty Tots XL to get you moving into the weekend, with DJ tracks, dancing and games for all the family.
