Sasha Keable
The British-Colombian singer-songwriter channels influences from before her time into jazz-laced R&B that’s fully of the present.
Keable’s music has a feel of both soul and gospel, while certain tracks veer into the territory of R&B and jazz, with a balance of tongue-in-cheek and heartfelt, evocative lyrics. In this concert, the Flames Collective choir ignites her music with powerful vocals from some of the city’s most talented young singers.
Her latest single ‘Hold Up’ pays tribute to her past eras – confrontational, menacing and foreboding – while the horns provided by the trumpet add a traditional jazz feel as the singer confronts a spell of cheating, removing her lover from her life without reason.
A marriage of the style of veterans like Lalah Hathaway with the grit and personality that’s come to define a new generation of musicians, Keable is the mouthpiece of modern music for her legions of listeners.
Gaidaa is a Sudanese-Dutch singer, songwriter and artist known for her warm, soul-infused sound and emotionally rich storytelling. Her music weaves together R&B, neo-soul and jazz influences, creating an intimate space for reflection, vulnerability and growth. With a voice that carries both strength and softness, Gaidaa’s work is deeply personal, rooted in lived experience and a constant search for self-understanding.
