Samara Joy

Sun 22 Nov 2026, 7.30pm

Savour the soulful, silky vocals and masterful jazz interpretations of the sensational, six-time Grammy Award winner Samara Joy.

A breathtaking blend of modern artistry, timeless vocals and masterful interpretations of jazz standards has cemented the Bronx native as a certified star – a modern torchbearer for legends like Betty Carter, Abbey Lincoln, Carmen McRae and Sarah Vaughan.

Joy became entranced by classic R&B as a child and cut her teeth as a singer in her church’s gospel choir; her 2019 win at the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition subsequently launched her into the jazz spotlight.

Joy’s albums showcase her golden lyrical touch and ingenious arrangements. Her early album Linger Awhile earned her a Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Album and a headline-making win for Best New Artist. Her new album Portrait, co-produced with veteran trumpeter, bandleader and multi-Grammy winner Brian Lynch, oozes with the intimate, soulful chemistry she’s developed with her touring band, earning her an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Jazz Album.
