Based on an infamous 17th-century Danish witch trial of noble woman Christenze Krukow and her friends, The Wax Child details how tightly the pre-modern mind was gripped by the idea of magic and witchcraft.

Olga Ravn is one of the most acclaimed and original writers at work today. Her previous novel, The Employees, was shortlisted for the International Booker Prize, the Ursula K. Le Guin Prize, and longlisted for the Dublin Literary Award.
