Kindred
Kindred Spirit returns with another great night of eclectic soul, R&B, jazz and spoken word performances by up-and-coming artists.
Featured at this edition are Farah Audhali, Amethyst, Obi Franky, Péjú and YES WE ARE!
The live music night, also known as Kindred, was founded by Ivor Novello and Brit Award-winning songwriter Michelle Escoffery in London in 2000. Over nine years it became a development ground for many of the UK’s finest artists including, Corinne Bailey Rae, BBC Poetry Slam champion Kat Francois, and the Mercury Prize-nominee TY.
Farah Audhali is a singer-songwriter whose debut EP Time’s Up was released in the summer of 2025, with the single ‘On the Run’ already streamed 1.2 million times.
Both a classically trained and self-taught multi-instrumentalist and singer, Amethyst is making her name on the UK soul and jazz scene.
Obi Franky is a singer-songwriter whose music draws on eclectic influences, ranging from R&B to folk. Her first album is due to arrive later in 2026 – with Franky playing every single instrument on every track.
Péjú is a DJ known for delivering high-energy, genre-fluid selections across hip-hop, broken beat, house, jazz and beyond. In summer 2025 she toured the UK and Europe with rapper Noname, as well as making an appearance here at the Southbank Centre for Little Simz’s Meltdown.
YES WE ARE! is a songwriting and production programme, which showcases emerging women creators from Liverpool. It is delivered in partnership with LIMF Academy and The Ivors Academy Trust.
