Imagine Artist Studio x WOM Collective

Immerse yourself in a street art masterclass for ages 7 – 11 with WOM Collective in our first ever Imagine Artist Studio space for older kids.

Focusing on a different specialism every day, the workshops introduce participants to various street art techniques like stencil making, graffiti lettering and how to create art adapted to the urban spaces.

Children work alongside professional artists, learning not only the artistic skills needed but also the importance of teamwork and community expression. Each session empowers children to discover and develop their artistic voice.

Workshop schedule
Wed 19 Feb: stencilling
Learn the art of stencilling! Create your own stencil and design artwork that can be replicated and reused again and again across different surfaces. This workshop gives you the opportunity to play around with shapes, textures and materials and learn a foundational skill for street art, as well as the chance to stencil your design onto our communal wall. At the end of the session you can take home your own stencil.

Thu 20 Feb: paste-ups
Join a day of collage and mixed-media making, as we learn the art of the paste-up. Paste-up is a form of street art that involves fixing paper and printed images to public spaces using a mix of wheat paste and other types of adhesives. In this workshop we explore different techniques for collaging and pasting 2D artworks, creating your very own artwork that can be pasted up on the communal wall, as well as taking an artwork home.

Fri 21 Feb: create your avatar
Explore the world of character design and learn how to express yourself through the creation of your very own avatar. This workshop takes you through character drawing, colour psychology and discovering how to create an avatar that reflects your identity and character through design and illustration.

Sat 22 Feb: graffiti lettering
Create your own graffiti nickname and explore different styles of graffiti typography as you learn about the rich history and culture of graffiti lettering. Discover how to identify different styles, play around with techniques and letter variants, learn how to draw 3D block letters and design your own tag for the communal wall.

Sun 23 Feb: art adapted to the urban space
This workshop looks at examples of artists’ work across the world, and explores through sketching and drawing how urban spaces can be used as a canvas. We explore how artists create art in a public space to alter its appearance and design artworks that express messages and ideas. Come along to try out different designs and draw a design on the communal wall.

WOM are a grassroots collective of London based female street artists, who are passionate about inspiring and empowering each other and our communities. They are storytellers and facilitators who bring art out of the galleries and onto the streets, enlivening and activating unloved, urban spaces with colour and soul. Through creative expression they create opportunities for meaningful human connection, joy and positivity.
