Hayward Gallery Lates: Chiharu Shiota & Yin Xiuzhen
Join us for after-hours access to our current exhibitions, activated through moments of performance, tours and drop-in creative activities.
The galleries are activated with spotlight tours from our curatorial team and performances by alumni from the National Poetry Library-led New Poets Collective.
The poets draw on the themes of memory, identity, movement and grief explored in Chiharu Shiota and Yin Xiuzhen’s works.
Don’t forget to drop into our poetry reading room and self-led creative station in the Hayward Gallery Cafe.
Over in The Clore Ballroom, Level 2, Royal Festival Hall, you can join our free drop-in workshop Creative Encounters: A Shrine to the Everyday. Hosted by artists Vroomlab and Alysha Nelson, the workshop invites you to explore joy, memory and connection through hands-on making, crafting shrines to the everyday.
This edition of Hayward Gallery Lates is presented in collaboration with the National Poetry Library and Open Doors: Creative Encounters.
Spotlight tours by the Hayward Gallery curatorial team and poetic responses by alumni of the New Poet Collectives take place throughout the evening. Relax with a drink in the Hayward Gallery Cafe and enjoy an activity from the National Poetry Library’s collection. Discover a reading station, poetry games, prompts to write some of your own work and an audio programme from the National Poetry Library’s collections, specially curated by Plastic Language (NTS Radio).
