Happy Birthday Elmer!

A very famous, very colourful, patchwork elephant is turning 35 this year, and everyone is invited to a special birthday party to celebrate.

Dress up in your most colourful outfits and come along to enjoy drop-in craft activities, party games, storytelling and music with a live DJ. Hosted by Azara with DJ Rayne Gel.

Pop by for crafts on Level 2, Blue Side of the Royal Festival Hall from 10.30am until 2.30pm, and join the party in The Clore Ballroom, Level 2, Royal Festival Hall from 12.30pm.

This event is free and no ticket is needed, but a queuing system may be in operation at busy times.

This is a celebratory event marking 35 years since the publication of the first Elmer book. Please note that Elmer doesn’t appear at this event and there are no meet-and-greet opportunities.

Access

This event is a Relaxed Performance (RP).

Relaxed Performances have a relaxed approach to noise and movement in the space, and you are free to exit and re-enter during the performances. A chill-out space and noise-cancelling headphones are available for children and adults. There are no adjustments to sound and lighting for these events and this event will feature amplified sound and flashing lights (not strobe) and we anticipate the event to be busy.

This event is held at the The Clore Ballroom Southbank Centre

The Clore Ballroom is open six days a week.

Tuesday, 10am – 6pm*
Wednesday – Sunday, 10am – 11pm
Monday, closed.

*If we’re hosting a performance, the building will stay open until the event ends.
