futuretense: Millie Mountain + Raquel Martins
Let the day melt away under the spell of Millie Mountain’s raw, authentic lyricism and Raquel Martins’ Latin-infused alternative sound.
Mountain’s enigmatic lyricism sparks a quiet sense of recognition – the kind that makes you feel understood before you even realise why. Blending the warmth of live recording with the precision of studio production, she fuses old-school soul textures with contemporary R&B, creating a sound that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly new.
Mountain’s magnetic live performances showcase not only her vocal depth but her undeniable presence and personality. Since her debut release in 2020, she has steadily carved her own lane, refusing to be confined to a single genre or expectation. Each release reveals another layer, proving she isn’t here to fit into a box, but to break it open.
Martins is a London-based Portuguese singer-songwriter and producer making waves with her blend of Latin and alternative influences with experimental production. With a DIY approach to production, she transforms organic sounds into emotionally resonant, genre-defying music.
Martins’ debut album, LONDON, WHEN ARE U GONNA FEEL LIKE HOME, explores identity, displacement and the search for belonging. The album, featured by Them magazine as one of their ‘11 Most Anticipated LGBTQ+ Albums of Fall 2025’, has garnered support both in Portugal, including from Antena 3, and outside from the likes of Wonderland, who labelled her merging of ‘jazz and folk-laden pop’ an ‘alt favourite’. She’s also been featured by colorsxstudios, Spotify, BBC Radio, NTS Radio and Jazz FM.
Martins is also an in-demand guitarist, having toured with Poppy Ajudha, Amaarae, Biig Piig, Loyle Carner and Rina Sawayama. She has previously supported Carner, as well as Mayra Andrade, Liana Flores, Oscar Jerome and Marcos Valle.
