Daphnis and Chloé
Ravel’s sumptuous ballet is brought to life by the London Philharmonic Orchestra’s enchanted playing and Circa’s daring contemporary choreography and circus.
Ravel’s Daphnis et Chloé is known for its bold rhythms and stunning orchestration. Add gravity-defying circus and you have a world as strange and intriguing as the music itself.
See dramatic group acrobatics, intimate duos and aerial solos unfold alongside the London Philharmonic Orchestra playing – as Stravinsky put it – ‘one of the most beautiful products of all French music’.
Circa is one of the world’s leading performance companies. They continue to push the boundaries of the art form, blurring the lines between movement, dance, theatre and circus.
Circa acknowledges the assistance of the Australian Government through Creative Australia, its principal arts investment and advisory body, and the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.
