Creative Encounters: Rangoli and Rhythms
The Sonia Sabri Company brings us a beautiful rangoli workshop and performances for an evening of South Asian art and music.
Work with people around you to make two large floor rangolis using sand, grains, flowers and leaves, and get the chance to make your very own mini rangoli to take home.
Enjoy coming together to make something beautiful, listening to relaxing and meditative South Asian classical music and exploring poems from the National Poetry Library.
So come on down to Creative Encounters and find a creative home in the heart of the city, where Londoners old and new are brought together for conversation, music and making.
As one of the leading contemporary South Asian dance and music companies in the UK, the Sonia Sabri Company has an international reputation for presenting Kathak dance in a contemporary context, without diluting its integrity. Their music is rooted in classical Indian traditions but branches into innovative developments with a range of styles including hip-hop, folk and jazz.
