Cécile McLorin Salvant with BBC Concert Orchestra

Sun 22 Nov 2026, 6.30pm

Called a ‘jazz artist of rare gifts’ by The Guardian, the Grammy-winning singer performs arrangements of her music with her band and the BBC Concert Orchestra.

Singer, composer and visual artist Cécile McLorin Salvant, was described by the late Jessye Norman as ‘a unique voice supported by an intelligence and full-fledged musicality, which light up every note she sings’.

She has developed a passion for storytelling and finding the connections between vaudeville, blues, folk traditions from around the world, theatre, jazz and Baroque music.

Salvant is an eclectic curator, unearthing rarely recorded, forgotten songs with strong narratives, interesting power dynamics, unexpected twists and humour.

Tonight, the three-time Grammy winner returns to the EFJ London Jazz Festival, to perform arrangements of her music with her band and the BBC Concert Orchestra.
