Catalyst
The National Youth Orchestra and The National Youth Brass Band join forces to play music like you’ve never heard it before – and it’s free for under-19s!
When music is used as a catalyst for change, it brings visceral optimism. The National Youth Orchestra and The National Youth Brass Band embody this energy in a concert that celebrates the power of music to spark hope and inspire commitment to new beginnings.
Brilliant young musicians from across the UK join forces for Gavin Higgins’ Concerto Grosso, celebrated as a jamboree of sound. And embrace the energy of Prokofiev’s extraordinary Symphony No. 5, one of the greatest gestures of musical defiance and hope of all time. Written in 1945, this music looks forward to the future with vitality.
