Young members of the grassroots movement curate a line-up of free comedy and more for this Saturday edition of our Riverside Sessions.
Arts Emergency is a grassroots movement set up in 2013 by activist Neil Griffiths and comedian Josie Long to act as an ‘Alternative Old Boys’ Network’ for under-resourced young people curious about having a future in arts and culture but who lack the privilege and/or inside connections that can open doors for them.
Since its formation it has empowered over 2,000 under-resourced young people across London, Greater Manchester and Merseyside to pursue their creative passions through 1:1 mentoring with industry professionals, real-life opportunities, network connections, peer support, and up to ten-years’ worth of tailored assistance.
Everybody, no matter their background, has the right to contribute to the culture they live in.

The Southbank Centre’s Riverside Sessions mark our 75th birthday with events curated by young people, for everyone. Whether you’re 15 or 75, come along to connect with the energy, complexity and joy of youth.

Access
We’re working hard to remove barriers, so that our facilities and events can be accessible to as many people as possible.
All help points, toilets, performance and exhibition spaces at the Southbank Centre are accessible to all, as are the cafes, bars and restaurants. We also have excellent public transport links with step-free access.
