An Evening with Carlo Rovelli
Celebrate a decade since the pivotal debut from the author and ‘poet of physics’, with an interview with Samira Ahmed alongside commentary, readings and music.
September marks ten years since Carlo Rovelli’s genre-busting, short first book Seven Brief Lessons on Physics, which ushered in a new style of writing about science.
This event celebrates this milestone publication, and includes a discussion from Carlo Rovelli, Samira Ahmed, Sarah Perry and Simon McBurney, alongside music and readings.
Seven Brief Lessons on Physics was followed by seven further titles, with his most recent work being White Holes, an Alice in Wonderland exploration of what happens at the bottom of a black hole.
The influence of Rovelli’s work has reverberated across our cultural life, with many artists including Anish Kapoor, David Hockney, Anthony Gormley, Conrad Shawcross, Cornelia Parker, Sarah Perry and Simon McBurney all acknowledging the impact his writing has had on their own thinking and work.
