A Dance Floor Journey
Grounded Movement take to the floor with an eclectic mix of African-derived social, fun and virtuoso dances from throughout the decades.
Join hosts and London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony choreographers Temujin Gill and Sunanda (B-girl Sun Sun) Biswas, accompanied by The Fezzes and DJ Billy Biznizz, for a joyous evening of social and party dances.
They lead a foot-stomping journey from the cakewalk, the Charleston and the Lindy Hop to the 1960s, funk dances, hip-hop and beyond. With live music, dance workshops, social dancing, performance and more, this evening is sure to get everyone dancing with a groove suitable for all abilities.
Grounded Movement, which debuted at Sadler’s Wells Breakin’ Convention 2013, is a company that produces work inspired by African-derived social and street dance culture. They are committed to creating culturally and socially relevant and impactful work that bridges the gap between dance, music and words.
