Join us for the last day of Little Simz’ Meltdown with a massive sound system celebration of our curator’s hometown, London.

Big, loud, heavy basslines is the assignment. We’re turning up the volume across the entire site in this celebration of sound culture and unity in London. Come along for live broadcasts of London’s best selectors on radio and a collective celebration of London’s rich sound system culture.

Taking us from London to the world, Felt is about celebrating and forwarding sound system culture. A heavyweight, high fidelity sound system grown from the melting pot of culture that is London, they are built on the foundations of its past, live for its present, and push it forward into the future.

Taking flight from Felt is a link-up of London’s finest and most eclectic community radio stations, with sets from Sister Midnight, Voices Radio and Balamii, championing London’s freshest DJs and taking us from UK funk, garage and rare groove, through to grime, hip-hop and Afrobeat.

Schedule
12 noon – 2pm: Sister Midnight (Anja Ngozi + Cleopatra + BOLDIE)
2pm – 4.30pm: Voices Radio (Darka b2b K-SLICE b2b DJ Picnic with MC Isaac B)
4.30pm – 7pm: Balamii (Saige Sounds + Jjamz)

About the artists
Sister Midnight is a collective on a mission: to open a new community-owned music venue in Catford, south London that champions local creative talent, and prioritises people over profit. With their belief that music can unite and foster communities, they are working to create a new space for creative culture that radically re-imagines the role played by music venues in our neighbourhoods.

Established in 2020, Voices is a radio station for the King’s Cross community and beyond, streaming live from Lower Stable Street. Committed to inclusivity and diversity in all its forms, the station features a mix of discussion and music genres.

Balamii is a south London-born radio platform, nurturing grassroots talent since 2014. With an ethos grounded in discovery and providing opportunities, Balamii continues to bring through the next generation of UK music.

The Riverside Terrace is an outdoor space overlooking the River Thames, on Royal Festival Hall, Level 2.

Getting here

Our address is Southbank Centre, Belvedere Road, London, SE1 8XX.

The nearest tube stations to us are Waterloo and Embankment; Waterloo is also the nearest train station. And more than 20 different London bus routes pass within 500 metres of our venues.  More information on getting here by rail, road or river is available on our Getting here page.

We’re cash-free

Please note that we’re unable to accept cash payments across our venues.

Access

We’re working hard to remove barriers, so that our facilities and events can be accessible to as many people as possible.

All help points, toilets, performance and exhibition spaces at the Southbank Centre are accessible to all, as are the cafes, bars and restaurants. We also have excellent public transport links with step-free access.

Food & drink

Through the glass from Riverside Terrace on Level 2 of our Royal Festival Hall you can grab a slice of life by the Thames with drinks and freshly made pizza at our Festival Bar & Kitchen.

From coffee to cocktails, filling favourites to fine dining, plus some of London’s best street food – it’s all here at the Southbank Centre.
