Summoning Our Ancestors
Mon 11 May - Sat 16 May 2026
Venue: The Hurst, Arvon
Address: The John Osborne, Arvon Centre, Clunton, Craven Arms SY7 0JA
The Arvon Centre will be hosting a five-day poetry writing workshop on how exploring work by other poets, musicians, artists or activists may incite new work.
This week will encourage participants to engage with their “chosen ancestors”, using techniques such as ekphrasis, translation, and intertextuality. There will be daily workshop sessions, personal feedback via 1:1 sessions with tutors as well as time and space to write outside of class time.
Led by Clare Pollard and Richard Scott, with a guest reading by Troy Cabida.
