Playlist: South Asian Sounds 2024

In March 2024 we hosted South Asian Sounds, four days of concerts and gigs bringing together some of the biggest names in South Asian music, along with emerging new voices.

And to celebrate this, and to give you a flavour of the new series, we put together this playlist featuring a number of the artists who we were lucky enough to welcome to the Southbank Centre. Here you can enjoy established artists including the Punjabi bhangra of Malkit Singh, the classical Hindustani vocals of Kaushiki Chakraborty and the folk music of Malini Awasthi. And you can also hear more contemporary sounds such as the electronic Indo jazz of Sarathy Korwar, Pakistani multi-instrumentalists the Leo Twins and British-Bengali fusion band, Khiyo.
