An opportunity to experience the music of an orchestra, completely reimagined. That’s the premise of Multitudes, which we held for the first time here at the Southbank Centre in April and May 2025.

Bringing together world-class orchestras – including each of our six Resident Orchestras – with a host of ambitious and exciting artists and performers, Multitudes offered new ways to connect with music. It’s a world where compositions old and new were brought to life with the collaboration of dancers, visual artists, poets and MCs, and where the music is taken beyond our auditoria.

To give you a flavour of Multitudes’ debut year we put together this playlist featuring some of the works, composers and performers who joined us in spring 2025.

‘We’re offering both artists and audiences a platform to explore the rich and varied tapestry of sound that defines classical music today’

Mark Ball, Artistic Director, Southbank Centre
