Youth Voices

Are you aged 9 – 18? Discover the joy of singing with the help of vocal experts

Southbank Centre Youth Voices is a free, inclusive all-comers choir made up of children and young people aged 9 – 18 who are curious about developing their love for singing.

Youth Voices is directed by our family of vocal experts who introduce techniques to train and develop the voice, explore fun ways of making music and teach a range of songs and musical styles.

You don’t need any musical background to join our youth choir – just enthusiasm and a willingness to have fun. After trying out our Youth Voices On Tour taster sessions, our young singers commit to weekly term-time rehearsals where they discover their voice, learn the joy of singing together, and build lasting friendships along the way.

Youth Voices celebrates the end of each term with exciting performances and creative projects, from live shows to writing and recording original songs, or sometimes both!

Listen to our Youth Voices

Have a listen to this track our young singers created in response to Haegue Yang’s 2024 Hayward Gallery exhibition Leap Year – it’s a perfect example of how music and art come together in our programme.

Taking part

We welcome young singers from all across London – no auditions required.

To be a part of the choir, we encourage you to try out at our year round Youth Voices On Tour taster sessions at community venues across Lambeth and Southwark, or at the Southbank Centre.

Those who catch the singing bug and help create our friendly, inclusive atmosphere will be invited to join our regular weekly sessions.

If you’d like to register your interest to take part in Youth Voices or learn more information about our sessions, please contact our Creative Engagement team.
