Southbank Centre Presents

We’re working with the next generation of cultural programmers and curators to give them valuable experience

Southbank Centre Presents, supported by BAFTA-winning producer Tobi Kyeremateng, enables nine cultural programmers to gain valuable real-life experience as they develop their own cultural toolkit.

Carefully selected from a sea of applicants, this initial cohort is part of a programme which gives them the opportunity to develop practical skills and theoretical approaches to cultural curation with support and insights from practitioners across a variety of art-forms.

During their time on the programme, these curators and programmers will also learn from industry experts working at the Southbank Centre and our network of partners, including Skin Deep, Resolve Collective, SXSW London and Factory International. And they will have the opportunity to programme and curate works which will feature at the Southbank Centre, including events that sit at the heart of our 75th anniversary celebrations in 2026.

Who we’re working with

Each of the nine UK-based participants, aged between 21 and 32, have prior experience in cultural programming or curation, whether that’s organising a local event, curating an in-person or digital showcase or exhibition, or running creative workshops or panel discussions. And they have each shown a commitment to inclusion, collaboration and engagement and an excitement at using culture to bring people together, with interests including, but not limited to

  • Literature and spoken word
  • Film and moving image
  • Music and sound
  • Performance and dance
  • Architecture and spatial design
  • Creative education and community engagement
  • Creative technology
  • Visual arts

Residency hosted by Coombe Farm Studios.
