Tawiah
Tawiah (pronounced Taa-We-Ah) is a film-score composer, live performer and alt-soul singer-songwriter who has earned a reputation as a deeply expressive artist, with an ability to connect with audiences.
In the latter guise she gained initial recognition with her award-winning 2007 EP In Jodi’s Bedroom, which she has since followed with two albums: Starts Again (2019) and Ertha (2022). She has toured with Moses Sumney and Michael Kiwanuka and collaborated with musicians including Dev Hynes and Mark Ronson.
Tawiah’s composition work includes the television series Without Sin (ITV), Black Ops (BBC) and Anansi Boys (Amazon). She has also worked as a voiceover artist for Labrum, Vinted, and the Caro Carrowback audio book.
Since 2024, when it was initially formed as part of Chaka Khan’s Meltdown, Tawiah has served as choir director of Sauti.
