Mr Lordi

Mr Lordi is the frontman and founder of rock band Lordi. Founded in 1992, the band became the first (and to this day only) Finnish band to win Eurovision with their song ‘Hard Rock Hallelujah’ in 2006. Their win broke the previous points record, made them a sensation in Finland and beyond, and fundamentally changed the perception of rock and heavy metal music in the European mainstream. 

The singer, songwriter and visual artist is also the creator of the iconic and elaborate monster costumes he performs in. Drawing inspiration from a passion for the horror genre and the mystical aura of their town Rovaniemi in northern Finnish Lapland, the group’s aesthetic and approach stands for courage and originality.
